The association was formerly known as the North American Registered Accountants on August 1, 1968 and was established in San Francisco. In 2002 moved to Los Angeles, renamed the American franchise of Certified Public Accountants.December 1998 by the United States National Accountants Association as the most influential in North America accounting professional organizations.
